Wrong Tree Review Is Now Available. Time To Do The Reading Part Of Being A Writer.

Wrong Tree Review is now available. Check it out here, and I so hope you enjoy. It was a real pleasure to help put this out, and a nice return to the game, really. I helped with Cellar Door Magazine several years ago and missed working with writers and basically just putting together a group of stories I care about it and sharing them with other people. It was a grand trip and I'm already looking forward to hitting the road with WT #2. There are already some talented writers and fine people in line for that issue.

Currently reading a few chapbooks I'd really been meaning to have under my belt ages ago and have just now been to set aside some work hours normally spent writing or editing to do so. Those include both of Matt Bell's chapbooks How the Broken Lead the Blind and The Collectors and also xtx and Mel Bosworth's Shudder Pageant. There will be more to come and I hope to be able to have something to say about these works and others as time permits.

I've been toying with the idea of taking some of my stories published from last year and a few more that have yet to be published and start arranging them into a chapbook or collection of my own. So far the idea itself has been enough to freeze me up a bit. For one thing, I don't really have a good idea about where I might submit such a manuscript. I mean, I know of several places were other fine books have been published that I enjoyed, but I'm not sure that whatever I pull together would be fit enough to pass through those halls. We'll see. I think it'll be fun either way to see my stories from the past year in one room. Sort of like a family reunion.

There has been so much happening in the past week beneath ground where the good writing is taking place that I can't possibly list all of it. Let me just offer my congratulations to those who have been continuing to produce work worth reading and, in turn, receiving much deserved recognition and success for those efforts. I'm thankful for all of you as a reader and endlessly inspired by your abilities.

  2. Right back at you, Mel. There's a handful of writers out there who do as much for the writing community as you do, man. All of us are better off because you're on the scene.

  4. Hey, thanks a lot, Dave. And that was a damn good interview, no doubt. Oh, and a big hell yeah on the Per Contra land. Major sweets, like Whitman's style on that one, pal.
